Also during that series, the $160 8-game mix was won by Loren Klein. Why mention this, you ask? Well, Klein was back home after earning his third WSOP bracelet in three years – this one a $1,018,336 victory in the $10k PLO (yes, you read that right, he was in a $160 buy-in a few weeks after winning more than a million dollars in a single tourney!) – one of a very few to have ever accomplished this feat.
At the tournament he joked about what it would take to be the first person since Doyle Brunson in 1976-79 to win a bracelet in four consecutive years. Fast forward to the $2,500 Mixed Big Bet this year, and Klein accomplished the goal, winning his 4th WSOP bracelet in 4 years.
We’ll have all the tournament updates right here for the entire series.
